Another update from Mrs P
Its all good in the Potts household at the moment, the boys have settled in well and are being cuddly and sweet which is lovely. The decorating is coming on, I have painted out the dark blue panels in the bathroom with white satinwood and changed the blind to a lighter funkier style. I have cleared out all the boxes from the dining room and we’ve put up photos on our gallery wall. All in all it is really starting to feel like we have put our own stamp on things. The kitchen functions perfectly and the layout really works. The utility is the perfect laundry room and has loads of storage, plus it is a great room to put the boys food and litter tray. There is still a long way to go before the house is complete and really feels like our perfect home, but it certainly feels like we are getting there. The garden is our next big project which we hope to start in April, so it’s ready for the summer. A bit of decking some shifting around of sheds and beds should make it feel a bit more functional and not quite so small and useless. At the same time we plan on getting the carpet done, running through the lounge/diner, hall, stairs, spare bedroom and 2nd flight of stairs. I need to paint the spare room cloud before we get the carpet and we also need to paint the walls in the bathroom, so a couple of little painting jobs for me to do whilst Jas is working. Check out the updated photos on my photos page.
Speaking of working…
Up until last week I was working at University of Bath as a temporary receptionist, a fab job where I met loads of great people and really got my confidence back in terms of working. I was there for just over 2 months and managed to earn enough money to easily pay for the new carpet, which is great.
This week I started a new job, this time a 2 year contract, which is perfect. I am working for Off the Record in the Shout Out team an advocacy team helping young people in BANES. My job is basicaly to do general admin for the rest of the team and to keep the office ticking over, buying stationery, loo roll, milk etc. I am only in the office 3 days a week, which gives me 2 spare days to fit in my studying. Quite frankly I couldn’t have landed myself a better position, I am really pleased.
Studying wise, I have just handed in my first assignment for ED209, Child Development. I have an assignment due in, in 2 weeks time for my other course SD226 Biological Psychology. I am awaiting the results of my first assignment, I hope it gets marked soon!
Jasper was back in the states for a fortnight this month, he’s been working so hard recently, I can’t wait until just after JavaOne. I think a holiday is in order!!
That is probably all the news from me for now, but don’t panic there will of course be another update soon.
Peace and love!
