Diet (9lbs in 11 days)

I have been a yo-yo dieter for pretty much the past 10 or so years and am aware that it is not a long term option to keep trying fads. I need to get in to a routine of eating the right things, but I just don’t have the will power to stay away from carbs or chocolate! In 2004 I managed to lose 5 stones, which quite frankly is pretty impressive in anyones book. However then I met Jasper in 2005, got comfortable in a relationship and started eating for England again. Since then I have tried to start random diets to shift the weight, but to no avail. I can easily lose 5lbs, but I can equally put on 7 by just looking at a Malteser (mmmmm, Maltesers!). I think my problem generally is boredom, if I have nothing else to do I nibble on the odd chocolate bar or slice of bread or anything else I can lay my hands on. The other problem I have is my insulin resistance, part of my PCOS, which unfortunately makes my body store more than it needs to, which is why it seems so hard to lose larger amounts of weight. However, it’s time I put all my moaning and bitching about PCOS and lack of will power behind me and really give it a go!

My friend Rachel and I trawled the internet just before Christmas to find the perfect diet, one that told me exactly what I needed to eat and when, I find it so much easier when there are specific boundaries. So many diets just say you need to eat ????calories a day, here are some recipes. Well that is no bloody good to me, because I can’t be arsed to sit and work out which meals I can combine to make it up to the right amount of calories per day, each day. I tried this before and ended up eating the same breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday for a month until I got so fed up I demolished a 200g bar of Dairy Milk and gave up on the whole thing.

Rach and I found a very interesting diet which I am trying from today, it claims that you can lose 9lbs in 11 days just by changing what you eat. The concept basically is to fool your metabolism so that it continualy burns existing fat from your body. The diet lasts for 11 days and claims that you can shed 9lbs in that time, so as of today I am putting it to the test, after all I think even I could cope with an 11 day diet. If it works, I will continue with it.

So as of today I will be posting a blog each day under this new section of my site and I will show you my meals of the day and my weight and we’ll see what happens!

Wish me luck

Lots of love
