Decision making month
Flights are booked, hotel is booked, car is booked, tattoo is decided on, gosh it’s all happening this month!
We have finally got round to booking our flights for our trip home in October and our return to the UK in April 2008. Here is the itinerary:
- 11th October flying to London (arrive 12th October)
- 23rd October flying back to San Francisco
- 31st March flying to Toronto (arrive 1st April)
- 7th April flying to New York
- 11th April flying home to London
So we are home for a week and a half in October, during which time we will be:
- 12th - traveling and sleeping
- 13th - seeing family
- 14th - revising
- 15th - taking exam in the morning
- 16th - driving to Cornwall
- 17th - driving back from Cornwall
- 18th to 22nd - seeing everyone else and relaxing
- 23rd - flying back to the US
Then we will be back here for 5 months before packing up our stuff and moving back to the UK, via Toronto and New York for a nice little holiday!
So that’s our travel plans sorted, next exciting bit of news is my tattoo which Jasper and I have designed, which is very much in-keeping with a typical Fi theme. It’s something that I have been thinking about doing for a couple of years now, and at last I have decided 100% what I want and where. I shall post pictures once it is done. I have chosen a great tattoo artist in San Francisco, who has done some really nice work (Shannon Archuleta). I am waiting to hear from her about an appointment time, but I would imagine it will be in 3 weeks time. As in 2 weeks time we will be in LA for our Snow Patrol gig.
Other decisions this month have been thinking of things to do to keep me occupied, I still have 8 months here, in which time I will only ever be doing one Uni course at a time, so I need something else to stop me from tearing my hair out. (Oh my hair!! that is another story!!). So I have made a couple of decisions, as well as being on a mission to be so gorgeously thin no one will recognise me when we move back (ha ha! I wish), I am also doing a lot of writing, I have been writing the odd blog entry and the odd random poem etc, but I am talking about doing serious writing now, yes I Mrs. Fiona Louise Potts am writing a book!!! Don’t laugh! It will be amazing, well it might be quite good, and I am hoping it might even get to be more than 10 pages long, woohoo!!
Another thing I have decided to do is get myself a sewing machine (Wendy’s idea, and I very good one I might add). I haven’t made any clothes/bags etc since I did my textiles GCSE 8/9 years ago, so I figured it was about time that I started being creative again, we found an amazing fabric shop the other day too, so I have had loads of ideas! We’ll see how many times I can prick myself with pins and needles!
Ok, so my hair, always an interesting subject, I am sure you’ll agree. I have had it pretty much every colour and combination of colours possible over the past few years but have finally decided I would quite like to go back to my natural colour. I booked an appointment at a hair dressers in Los Gatos, supposedly where everyone goes to get their hair done! I had a really sweet stylist, who was chatty and friendly, but unfortunately didn’t quite do what I asked for. I wanted to go back to blonde, but she just put a colour stripper on my hair, which took it down maybe one shade from my very dark brown of the wedding, then put highlights through. It doesn’t look anywhere near blonde, it’s just mid brown instead of dark brown! Rubbish!! Anyway, I have decided not to bother trying to find anyone else out here to do it, as I don’t want to pay another $200 for nothing! So I shall be booking an appointment with Nikki as soon as I am back in October, hopefully she will sort me out, she normally does.
Only other news really is that as well as my work for the charity Verity, I am now doing some promotional stuff for PCOSA the American counter-part. Apparently it’s PCOS awareness month in September, so I will be spreading the word!!
Hope everyone is having a good summer despite the shite weather in the UK. It’s been between 25°C and 40°C here, sunny every day!
Love ya
