Since my last blog the last house we put an offer in on went off the market …

We looked at dozens more houses …

We put an offer in on a great house in the same area we liked before but again lost out to a higher bidder …

Then the same house that had been taken off the market, came back on at $50k less than it’s original asking price …

We put an offer in $10k over the asking price and in fact the same offer as we had previously put forward …

The owner accepted the offer, hurdle one over!

However, it is a short sale and that means that we also need the owners mortgage company to accept our offer – this generally takes a while …

In the meantime as a backup we looked at more houses …

8 weeks later we finally got an answer from the mortgage company, if we offered an extra $10k we could have the house!!!!!

We agreed verbally and are currently awaiting the paperwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next step is to get our inspections and reports done, as long as these don’t throw up too many expensive issues then we should be in in November!

So excited that we might be homeowners again! If everything works out we’ll get the keys while Jasper is away in Antwerp, that means I get a week to clean and maybe even do some painting ready for our stuff to arrive a day after Jasper does! Yay, fingers crossed everything works out.
